Oh I know ALL about this. The thought of food when I'm anxious makes me sick. It's the worst. But not eating makes it worse. I always manage to eat something even if its small. Hang in there.
I first off try to keep drinking fluids. Even ginger ale. I am not good at what to eat or not. I actually force myself to eat a piece of wheat toast, to try and jump start my bowels. I called the Dr. and he told me to get Mirilax and do that for a while and see if it will make me go!!! He says the nausea might be cause I am not going like I should. And stress can and will upset the digestive system.. and that gurling/rumbling is my digestive system doing its job.. I actually felt like I had a flu for 5 days. Yesterday and today I feel a little better, just a wee better... still feel weak.. so weird. But I had a big ordeal happen here at home that probably set off what is a bad situation to begin with.. I have severe anxiety and IBS, Gerd.. so it will target the weakest link...
What have you been able to eat ive lost about 12lbs in 2 weeks
Oh my.. this is exactly to the T what I am going thru.. I got severe anxiety /panic disorder, This past week something came up here on the home front that sent my stress up the charts! I got the churning/rumbling going on up under my rib cage.. some discomfort across from left to right.. Then I get nausea/ no appetite.. And I can't go to the bathroom. And now I am stressed about that.. when I get stressed I usually go running to the bathroom.. but its the opposite
Whats the anxiety all about?
Thanks makes since to me all I can eat is oatmeal bananas and yogurt and just wish I could have diarreha I'm constipated instead. Thanks
hi there,
anxiety and stress can have a big impact on the digestive tract of someone. When someone is anxious the body goes in to fight or fight mode and focuses in energy on releasing adrenalin and other hormones to protect itself. When this happens it no longer focuses on other bodily functions as much so food does't digest as well. This is why people under stress or who suffer from anxiety often have diarrhea.
It might take a while for your body to get back to normal. Just because you're not stressed at the moment doesn't mean your body has recovered from the constant stress you were experiencing a couple weeks ago. Often people experience side effects of stress weeks after, or even months (hair loss).
