Recurrent tongue spot

I have been under a great deal of stress and faced with a truckload of anxiety.  Without getting into the details of the root of it, I was curious as to physical symptoms of anxiety.  I have had a spot resurface on my tongue four time in the last 5 or 6 months.  It shows up in the exact same spot, front left portion of my tongue.  The spot starts off as the tongue papillae feeling a little rough then they start to disappear , it ends up being roughly the size of a pencil eraser.  There is no pain or discomfort in the spot, it's not unusually hard or there's no fluid or blood present, and it always goes away in about a week, week and a half.  The spot itself is flesh colored and the border seems to be a little more red in some spots and a little more white in others.  Has anyone ever seen this or does anyone know what causes this?

Does anyone have any additional input on this topic as I thought I had done a good job to alleviate my stress and had felt great for the last month +  , only for the spot to show up again yesterday.
