Get your thyroid levels checked. Ask for TSH, free t3 and free t4.
This will majorly affect your memory. I do the exact same thing. If I leave something it is gone from my mind.
Hi,
I would suggest to go to your regular GP first. He/She might order some basic testing to rule out any other medical issues before jumping to possible anxiety/depression. Or they may refer you to a specialist. For anxieties/depressions you should go to a psychiatrist or psychologist.
Wishing you well and hoping you find the right Doc to help with what this may be. There are many treatments for anxieties.depressions. Don't get discouraged, there is help out there for you and at least you've realized you need to do something about it. That is a huge step in the right direction.
Seeing your regular Doc first, and being totally honest about your symptoms and feelings is the best way to start on the road to feeling better.
Hoping you're feeling better soon! Oh.....and i have found Post-It notes to be one of my best friends lately too....lol.....memory loss due to anxiety is very frustrating. But very normal also. Hormonal imbalances etc.. whether male or female can be a huge factor w/ these disorders and cause a lot of these symptoms also. So I would ask the Doc to also include a full blood work up w/ hormones included. I have major hormone issues....but my hubby was very low on some too and found it had a lot to do w/ his symptoms at the time.
take care, Teresa ; )
