Know that you WILL be Ok. Know that this is just anxiety. You are such a great girl...You can overcome this, it's only a matter of time.......I was like you very agorphobic..until I got up and decided it's not for me...that I need to take control of my life. It was the scariest feeling...most embarrassing feeling but the BEST thing I could have done...was left my house to go to therapy and get the help I needed..........The Self esteem workbook helped me ALOT .....read it while your home!! Please....I think you can really benefit from this book. Its by Glenn R. Schiraldi
You can find it on Amazon maybe even Overstock . com (its probably cheaper there) Anyway It helped me bunches!! Best wishes and please read it......(Im not a fan of reading anymore, but this book hooked me...and helped me)! You have NOTHING to lose but so much to gain (Happiness, peace, relaxation)
Best wishes, you do deserve the best!
You should come join us in the agoraphobic community. Lot of like minded people. When they show up. Think most of them prefer this community. But just so you know there is a special one for agoraphobics.
Ok, I understand what your going through, are you doing any kind of activity to help this while your at home? one idea is a treadmill or some type of machine to get you feeling a little better about how your feeling on breathing. I have three boys and one of them worked four months on losing weight and lifting a little weight and in that short time, i cath him flexing and acting much more confident. Everyone is different so go slow make small steps and tell yourself what you want to change and take those steps to start it.
kteen, BELIEVE you deserve better, BELIEVE you can do better, much better, and BELIEVE I tell you your truth.
Hi: I go out as little as I can get away with, but I walk from one end of the house to the other all day, and if I can I just walk up and down the driveway. Also, other exercises can halp (deep knee bends, hand swinging, etc.). If you are in therapy wonderful, if not, while I see some wonderful understanding here, some therapy (but not all, certainly) might help. You're not alone, you are loved, and needed. Please be here for the rest of us too. P.S. I'm much older than anyone here so have had a LOT of experience.
Hi! I understand how you feel, I started to get some agoraphobia and still it's hard for me to go out but I'm almost out of it. I used to work out and for 2 weeks I got intense anxiety so I didn't go out or do anything at all staying home, the first time i did go out you really feel out of shape and suddenly feel like your heart is gonna stop if you get really worked out but it's just a sensation! remember that sensations are just that, and they cannot hurt you. Besides, the heart is also a muscle that can get more and more endurance the more you work out and the gym actually is a great way of staying away from agoraphobia, I have lived it and the first time I worked out again everything felt so much different, you should try it, work out for about an hour or a bit more and if you feel like your heart races too fast just remember to breathe deeply filling your belly! works really good. Hope it works for you, it did for me and if you feel like talking about anything you can talk to me, I have some good remedies and info about anxiety that might help you too :) see ya soon
i am exactly in the same position as you. i to have a case of agoraphobia and dont leave my house much. i am too VERY out of shape!! i get the exact same way when i do any form of activity. its normal and i assure you that your heart is not going to stop. you have such a lack of exercise so your heart just isnt used to you getting up. youll be ok just relax and do something to take your mind off of your irrational thoughts.
