Random SEVERE Abdominal Cramps/Spasms

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone here may be able to help me figure my issue out. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Basics: I have been experiencing random,SEVERE,Charlie-Horse-Like pains in mostly my lower right abdomen.Sometimes it will happen on the left side but it will go from lower to upper abdomen. These random, severe cramps/spasms started about 6 months ago with no warning.

Reasons I'm slightly worried/concerned-

When the pain first struck I was just sitting still on the couch, no warning, and it resembled the pain of an Ovarian Cyst rupturing but within 15 seconds of the initial cramp/spasm it went to a wholllleee new level! I've had PCOS since my teens and never, have I ever before, experienced this type/level of pain. It literally feels like there is a hand/arm reaching up into my abdomen and grabbing a section of muscle and just squeezing as hard as possible. This episode lasted about 5-7 minutes before subsiding completely.

However, as time has gone on... The pain now is very distinct and then as it happened a couple more times it's developed into what I call Full-Throttle Mode...same pain, spasms/cramping as the initial attack/episode but now the pain can move around a bit (I know what you're thinking, it's not "just gas") the entire attack-episodes now can appear and disappear in as little as 3 minutes but they also can appear and disappear in as long as 10-15 minutes.

*Movement is the trigger for an attack/episode. I could be sitting, go to readjust how I'm sitting and BAM here we go! Bending forwards also seems to trigger them.*

So far all I've come up with is that it is the PCOS and I've just had some nasty cysts or maybe Appendicitis, though unlikely but still made me wonder since the lower right abdomen is the hot spot for these attacks/episodes. But if it were Appendicitis wouldn't it get worse not better suddenly and not appear at random over the course of 6 months?

I'm not going to lie my intuition was practically screaming through a megaphone "THIS. IS. NOT. NORMAL!!!" every time this has happened and the end result is me in a ball on the floor, unable to breathe from the intensity of the pain. So I told myself after the last one I will drag myself to the Doctors if it happens again. Well it did...ugh!

Basically what I'm looking for here is if anyone has any idea of what this might be? What should I expect to happen at the appointment? I tend to avoid the Doctors unless absolutely necessary so  I'm nervous :\ Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Adnexal torsion (twisting of an ovary) causes sudden, severe pain and often vomiting. Check the link below for more information...
