Headaches

I have had constant headaches for now on 4 months . I have been to my gp doctor several times. She has prescribed me topamax, percocet amd several drugs. I am a diabetic with high blood pressure and several other things that go with that . I orginally went to the doctor 5 years ago with boils .That is whne she decided I was a diabetic. I didn't start having the headaches until 4 months ago. They started in the end of October begininning of November. My general doctor decided that I needed to go to a neurologist. I then went to the neurologist and he decided that I needed a spinal tap , and a cat scan . I had those done. And then I went back to have the follow up . And the orginal doctor was out of town . So I seen his associate She stated that I needed a new spinal tap because the first one was done wrong . So I went in and did it . And in the process had another cat scan done. I went and had a sleep study done as well. They said that I need to have a c pap due to having drop my oxygen from 90 to 84 . I am still having these stupid headaches . Well this latest doctor has put me on amitriptylin and isometh/apap which I have to take every 4 - 6 hours. Or I have a headache that puts me out  to the point of I can't  move . I still have to be in almost total darkness . It hurts to go into bright light and loud noises hurt as well. I just wish that some body could help me. They also said that when they did the first exam with the neuorologist that I slighly swollen optic nerves . If there is anything that can help please let me know thanks

Hi,
How are you? I understand your concern about these headaches. Can you elaborate on the CT scan and spinal tap result? Migraine headaches are usually associated with one-sided throbbing pain, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, cold hands, sensitivity to sound and light, visual disturbances and even numbness. If your present medications do not help, you can opt to try complementary and alternative medicine such as biofeedback, acupuncture and other relaxation techniques. How long have you been taking your thyroid medications? If the hormonal levels are controlled, these medications may be stopped. Talk to your doctor about his or her working diagnosis and review your medications. If you are not comfortable taking these too many medicines, inform him or her and discuss their management plan. Hang on and do keep us posted.

I also forgot to include that my doctor has me on thyroid medication for hyperthoridism. I have to take 14 medications a day. I can not going on living like this . I am tired of living like a hermit and living in the dark.
