That's great. However, most of the preventative migraine medications which Topamax is used for, take weeks to work. So don't give up if it takes awhile. But your doctor would know best. I don't personally know about Topamax.
Thanks again Sara12345. I will definitely keep them up to date with the signs and symptoms. But I finally gave in and went to the doctor's office the next day. I was prescrided Topamax, it seems to be helping alittle bit, my headaches aren't as bad as before.
When I had a bad migraine, I was desperate to get it relieved. It must NOT be a bad headache for you which doesn't make me nearly as concerned.
Just telling you that once you do have stroke symptoms it's a bit late in the game. But if you do, get to the ER immediately where they may be able to give you a drug to treat the stroke.
And tell your family the systems because when I and others had our strokes we had no judgement that anything was wrong. It can disable your reasoning ability.
You probably don't have anything to worry about.
Thanks, but my blood pressure is good. I don't have any numbness, stiff neck, no problems with speech, no shooting pain down either side of my body. I have medical insurance with my job. I'd rather search for home or over-the-counter remedies before going to the doctor's office.
If your headaches came on suddenly (not very gradually) and are severe, you should go to a doctor ASAP. Especially when pain relievers are not helping it. It could mean that you are about to have a stroke or something else serious. A stroke could lead to serious problems like paralysis and not able to speak.
You probably don't have health insurance the reason why you're trying not to go to the doctor. That is a real tragedy in our country.
Also watch out not overdosing with over the counter medications. That can lead to severe, permanent damage.
