How to stop nursing a toddler?

My girl is 21 months old and is still nursing. She still falls asleep at the breast, but she sleeps through the night. I'm thinking that soon I'd like to stop nursing and was just wondering about ways to do it with less crying. I'm staying home with her, so she tends to nurse anytime she wants to. She is shy about nursing in public now, so she only nurses at home. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
