Hi,
Thank you for the informations. This was a urine culture.A sample of my urethra was taken with a swab and it was contaminated with staphylococcus aureus.I have done the urine culture analyzed in three parts. My first part of the urine had bacteria, but the other parts were sterile. My doctor (2 years ago) has said that there's nothing to worry about.
I have a additional question.Does chronic bacterial prostatitis affect the testicle area and can it cause damage to that area?
I'm concerned about the ability to make children and I'm afraid that bacteria can penetrate in my testicles and damage the sperm.
Thank you
Hi,
This may be a case of chronic bacterial prostatitis. Was this a culture done of your urine or did your physician also perform culture of the prostatic secretion?
Chronic prostatitis may be a condition that may not readily resolve with antibiotics. Usually prolonged courses of antibiotics is the mainstay of therapy but there is no guarantee that the symptoms will be resolved. The bacterial load may decrease but the symptoms may persist.
"Newer therapies (for chronic prostatitis) with some evidence for efficacy include α blockers, anti-inflammatory drugs, phytotherapy (quercetin, bee pollen), physiotherapy, neuroleptics, and others with unique actions (finasteride, pentosan polysulfate). "

There is no definite management guideline for treating chronic cases of prostatitis especially the more chronic forms. Close consult with your physician may help guide you through this. I understand that this may not be feasible at the moment. Do not self medicate. Always inform your primary physician with regards to medications.
I'm not sure if there is any inflammation that causes the pain, but there's nothing visible and unusual looking at my genital area.I have no discharge,I have burning sensation after ejaculation though.
(this part is continuation of the problem given above)
Thank you
Enterococcus faecalis is suspectible to Ampicilin, penicilin, rifampin, norfloxacin, vancomycin, linezolid and is resistant to tetracycline and synercid.I'm temporary in US and I have no insurance and I wonder is it wise to take any of these antibiotics, even though I was told by a doctor that antibiotic hardly get to this area and do the work,is there any possibility to eliminate this bacteria in my urine?
