blood and sugar in urine?

On the 26th March 2008 I had a water infection with burning when urinating and frequent urination I was treated with antibiotics cipro trimethoprim and cipro now then infection has gone but there it still blood in my urine. I went the other day to check if it was still present and they said yes and also there is sugar in it, what could this mean?? I have discomfort in my lower abdomen and its painful when I walk. I am being referred to urology but havent been feeling myself for a while now I have lost over 2 stone and have no appetite what so ever!! I was wandering if I ask my doctor to do a test for ovarian cancer if he would do it??

any replies appreciated

Hey.  I am glad you are feeling ok.  Is your urine still cloudy?  How long do you have to wait until you can go to the urlologist?  Waiting is the worst. My dad went to a urlologist and he had a cytoscope and he said it didn't hurt while they were doing it but it hurt to pee afterward. Just once though.  I don't know if its different for guys.  I would think it would be worse for them.

My doc does send it away and I just called the lab and they said it did have micro and dipstick done,  They said they always do both because dipsticks are unreliable.  I started my new antibiotic last night and I am feeling alot better. I am not sure if that is possible after one pill but my lower stomach hurts alot less.

Well, time to get ready for work again.  Let me know how you are.

Hiya im good but am really nervous about seeing the urologist its all im thinking about! You should get them to send it away to get tested as my doctor said the dipsticks are unreliable. Good luck

Hey.  How are you feeling?  I just went to the Doc and he said that he thinks I have a bladder infection.  More antibiotics. He did say that if I keep having these problems its off to the urologist.  He said that he did a urinalysis and culture on the specimin that I left yesterday and it was negative for blood.  I think it was just a dipstick though and that makes me nervous because my last dipstick was negative also.  I told him that and he said they did a microscopic but the nurse said that it was only a dipstick.  I don't know who to believe.

No, it's just me and my husband.  I just wanted to check the board before work.  I'm glad I caught your message.  I have to be there in 1/2 hour and I didn't even shower yet.  I am a mess this morning.  I am so scared something is severely wrong.  I have to go get ready.  I will post again after work.  Have a good day.

Yea, it is a nightmare.  I worry myself sick all of the time.  I wish I didn't work.  I feel better when I am at home.  Trust me work does not keep your mind off anything and all that happens at work is I get more upset because I have to worry about getting my work done while I'm worrying about how I am doing.  I also have to worry about find the privacy to call the Dr.  I don't have an office, just a cubicle.  People are always around.
