Cocaine Use

My friend recently injected cocaine and since then his arm where it was injected has a huge lump, is red and is very painful.  I have suggested that he put heat and/or ice on it to see if that will help but it has not.  What can be done to help with this?

Also, I recently heard that there may be some prescription medication that is available that helps cocaine, meth and/or crack addicts with cravings.  Is this true?  If so, can someone provide me with information about it.  Thank you.

The injection site lump typically happens when some of the injection misses the vein and stays in the subcutaneous layer instead. I'm not sure, but I think it will clear up on its own. Maybe try some warm saltwater compresses.

As far as the anti-craving meds, I know that Baclofen, Neurontin, and Tiagabine can be prescribed off label for that. I think there are some others, too. If I find a link on it, I'll post it for you.
