addicted way toooo long

by deltadog, Jul 01, 2009 12:08PM
I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 24 years, I have taken Darvocet everyday for these 24 years along with tylox, oxycontin, oxycodone, and hydrocodone, but darvocets have always been a constant.
I just had surgery and tried for the very 1st time to just quit everything, not a good idea but my doses have never been too high I only would take 4-5 a day because to many made me sick so I really never thought I was addicted until I tried to stop the other day and only slept for an hour and cried all night.  It finally hit me I was in withdrawal so immediately took a percocet and felt better.  I want to stop and am just wondering how to do it myself?  I have darvocet and thought I could just wean off the other pain meds. and rely on the darvocet to get me thru?  I know alot of you have been thru this and if anyone can advise me on how to get off or just down to the darvocets alone I will be ok.
Thank you soooo much in advance!!!!
