wanting to get out of methadone clinic

I have been in a methadone clinic for over 2 years now. I have been feeling like my dose has been short for at least three months now. I would like to find a private doctor to get a prescription but I don't know where to start. Could anyone please give me some advice to at least get me started in the right direction?

it is illegal in the USA for a GP Physician to prescribe methadone to maintain an addict. Methadone may be prescribed for pain.....but not for addiction. Dont know if an addictionologist may prescribe as you inquire. If it were me, I would detox from the stuff........and I have......It is so good to know that nothing bad will happen if I pass up the methadone clinic today. Or for the rest of my life..........Tell your clinic to blind dose detox you and stay away from opiates..................
