Baby not eating well !

My 12 week baby is just 10 pounds and 8 ounces. My LO is 100 % formula fed and currently on similac alimentum. She was on similac advance before and from last week she is on similac alimentum as told by her ped.  She is also suffering from acid reflux and was on zantac which did not appear to help her lot.She only takes 3 ounces (she stops at one ounce but then we feed her remaining 2 ounces by waiting , burping) every 3 hrs and her intake has not increased even at 3 months. Did anyone experience similar thing? Did their babies eat properly as they grew ?

From your measurements, her weight is on the 10th percentile and her height is just below the 5th percentile for her age. Here are a few suggestions to help with acid reflux. The feeding position is important and should be almost a sitting up position when feeding her. Burp her well. Never lay her down on her back right after eating or ½ hour to 1 hour after feeding because the acid from the stomach goes into the esophagus and causes pain. Raise the head of her crib to a 45-degree angle too so she are not flat on her back. Feeding her 5-6 times day does help. Feeding that way keeps the stomach acid constant, which helps the reflux, she grows, and weight increases at a steady pace. Suggest returning to the MD to discuss changing medication and possible further testing if the changed medication does not show improvement. Thank you for your question.
