Adding a meal to the food tracker

I would like to accurately represent a full dish on my meal tracker but that means not only combining all the ingredients but also allowing for portions.  Does anybody have any guidance on the best way to record, for example, a beef stew to my tracker such that I capture all the ingredients, I can make a good size dish of it but still be able to record by portion (say for example if I make enough for three or four meals)?

One option I thought of was using the tracker to create a meal that is the full size of what I cook, then determine how many portions are in that, divide the number and create a second food tracker meal for one portion, but this sounds very convoluted.  Ideally I would love to find a tool which let me "build" a meal to determine the total counts of all the components (calorie, fat etc.)

Suggestions?
