Can hrt feed dangerous cells removed through hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis and removal of precancerous tumors in 1997. I am now 40 years old and experiencing the same pain I had then.  My doctor tells me that I should never have been placed on the hormone patch as it will continue to feed any cells left behind.  I have horrible hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats without the patches though.  What  alternatives do I have?

hi HRT is so contraversial, If your using bio identical you have little to worry about, except whatever your using is NOT the right med or combo for you, everyones needs are different your symptoms of hot flashes etc..should be gone or near gone with proper hormones.

there are some studies that link hrt with increase in breast cancer. Its now proven bio identical does nOT cause heart issues as previously claimed and hrt is good for the bones,

Your question is serious, we have a new expert Dr forum here on hysterectomy Id like you to repost this there and see what he advises.

I think you pain has nothing at all to do with the hrt...your endo could be causing pain ( its rare drs get it all) you may have developed scar tissue or adhessions.

Upon re-reading your post I must clear up that yes hrt can feed endo, my origional thought was you where asking if it could feed cancer cells.

Id for sure get one more opinion from a gyno preferebaly a oncoloyisit gymocologist just to err on saftey side.

Incase your pain is related to something Im not thinking of Id urge you to go straight to ER if pain is above 7 on pain scale, if you develop fever, follow your gut instincts.

Hugs

Cherie
