Hormone replacement

by Depot, Dec 09, 2008 09:01AM
I had a complete hysterectomy 19 years ago and have been on Premarin ever since.  The dosage has been lowered from .6 to .325.  Can I stop taking Premarin and, if so, what are the consequences?

Hi there,
Sorry, I can't answer your question. I am on the bioidenticals which are very different from Premarin. My thought on this would be to taper down slowly or your symptoms might return. How old are you? 19 years seems like a long time to be on HRT unless you were really young when you had your hyst. Have you been tapering your dose?
