Normal Thickness for Uterun Wall

I was diagnosed with a thick uterine wall, 8mm from a vaginal ultrasound test. Can you tell me what a normal thickness ought to be in a 64-year-old post menopausal woman? I will not be able to have further investigation until I get medicare. Is there reason for concern if I have to wait 10 months for a D & C?

Hi there,
I think in a postmenopausal woman, the lining should be very thin, like less than 3mm.
Why did you have the trasvag u/s? Were you having symptoms? Do you take hormone replacement? Were you bleeding? Sorry for all the questions, just want to be able to answer your question with more info.
