hormone replacement or not?

Hi,

I'm scheduled to have my uterus and fallopian tubes out on Jan. 12th.  The dr. might take an ovary, possibly both.  I believe that if I keep both ovaries, and maybe even just one I won't need to consider taking any kind of hormone replacement.  Is that right?

I'm a little confused about when one must consider taking hormones.

Thank you wonderful girls!

Debbie

Your ovaries will still produce some hormones so if you do keep them you might not need hormones.
I would imagine this can only be considered after the surgery because you have no idea right now what will be left and what will be removed.
Also, some women do well with not taking any hormones even after a total hysterectomy. It's a personal choice to do so or not. All of us women are very different.
If you have any questions about your upcoming surgery we're to to help any way we can.  Remar
