hormones screwed up??

I'm 48 years old and had a complete hysterectomy back in my 20's.  I started out on premarin but didn't like it so went on vivelle dot patches and like them alot.  I'm on a dose of 0.05 and have been for YEARS.  I notice that I now wake up with hot flashes.  I don't get them at night or during the day - just when I wake up.   Also.... I've recently been diagnosed with GAD - anxiety.  Daily unexplained anxiety.  My GP wants to put me on anti depressants but I don't want to go that route.  I just have a feeling that it's something else - maybe even hormonal.  I do have valium to take on bad anxiety days.  I get anxiety induced nausea - UGH..
I'm not taking any progesterone and I'm wondering if I need to add that?  By my description,  does it sound like it??
I have a doc appointment on the 1st of Aug.  So, I plan to bring all this up then.
