hysterectomy- hrt treatment

What HRT treatment is neccesary after a complete hysterectomy? Is estradiol 2mg and testosterone 2.5 mg, both twice a day to much?  What are the side effect of a woman taking that much testosterone? Is this treatment good for my body or is this hurting me? Please help me easy my mind?

It might help if you could say a bit more about what  you are taking. Is this oral Estrogen? Is it a Patch like Climara or Vivelle? (both are bioidentical). Is the testostereone "off-label" for women (I have been on this for 8 years but it is a delicate dance and although I DO NOT want TO BE WITHOUT IT!!!  I also know that if you go too high, the symptoms are not good (like losing the "Soprano" in the voice... this happened to me last year, but I recovered quickly once the dose was better regulated... long story)... is it oral or a cream.

I could not function without the hormones, but I know women who have, but it is all such an individual thing and you must do some research (Like you are now :)).

I have some recent posts on HRT or "BHRT" (the bioidentical type)... click on my profile and go to the most recent posts since I have changed some of my thinking on taking Progesterone like I used to... there are many women on the boards who do take hormones and I am sure you will get more responses.

Just add some more info if you are willing. Have you had the hysterectomy? And, of course by "complete" you mean the ovaries are being removed, right? And, add your age, too, if you are okay with that.

Take care,

Mary
