Birth control clearing out cysts

My period is very irregular, I only get it MAYBE 4 times a year. I always get cysts on my ovaries and to rid them from my body, my doctor put me on birth control one time, but that was like 4 months ago. I haven't taken them since. I have cysts again and I will be going to the doctor again next week to be put back on birth control. My problem is, when I take the birth control I clot and bleed to the point where I can't leave my house, the last time this happened, my doctor put me on bed rest because it was so bad. Now, my question is, how long after I start taking the pills will i start to bleed again? And how long will I bleed for. I have a job and I have to let them know because I have a job where a restroom is not available whenever I need it, so I will have to take off. PLEASE HELP!!!

What are they putting you on? Usually when you go on birth control pills your periods bleed less and are much shorter. There has to be a better solution. Ask them to change what they are offering you.
