I have high BP and saw a maternal fetal medicine doc prior to TTC. He told me toporol was fine to take. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and reading things about how its Cat 3 and NOT safe! I'm now freaking out! Has anyone Bern on this throughout an entire pregnancy? If so, what happened? Why was this chosen for me if not safe?!?! Nothing else was tried and it seems others are safer! :/
Only an examination and detailed history can make the decision. There may be some risks associated with taking Toprol during pregnancy. Your Doctor will consider the benefits and risks before making a recommendation in your particular situation. Together, you and your healthcare provider can then decide what is best for you and your child. A second opinion may be sought.
Hope this helps.
