Back Pain / Enlarged Lymph Nodes

by briansweat, Oct 25, 2009 04:37AM
I am a 21 year old male. 5'11'' 160lbs. I have been a very active person, weightlifting, cycling, and snowboarding for years. About 6 months ago I started having back pain that came and went. My back pain started in my lower back only, and eventually started having pain between my shoulder blades. I have been having significant pain in my groin, hips, and buttock as well. Eventually the pain became more and more frequent, to the point it was all the time. After 2 MRIs, 2 spine surgeons told me my Scheuermanns Disease and mildly herniated l5-s1 disc should not be causing me this much pain, if any at all. My pain gradually kept increasing, but extreme tiredness and fatigue started setting in. After having several several blood tests, it was clear that my lymphocytes were low, and continuing to get lower. I'm a college student and have noticed hard swollen lymph nodes between 1 - 3 cm in my neck for quite a while, but thought nothing of them because, well I'm a college student exposed to all sorts of wonderful junk. Recently, I asked my doctors if the lumps in my groin were lipomas, because i have about 2 dozen on my body and he said they were lymph nodes. They are about the same size as the ones on my neck, and don't hurt. They are very hard, and I can tell the ones in my neck have gotten larger. I've had to take a medical leave from college, because the pain and fatigue have basically disabled me. In more recent symptoms, I have started having a very upset stomach, with indigestion. The upper left part of my stomach has been quite painful as well. I have lost my appetite but still eat one meal a day, which is usually quite large. Eating cause quite a bit of discomfort in my abdomen.

I have been fairly healthy, and haven't really been sick. I had problems with tonsilitis for a few years, but haven't had a problem in over a year. Can anyone help?
