Sporadic Vertigo
I have been having sudden sporadic vertigo episodes for 4 years now.  I never know when they are going to happen.  It feels like spinning extremely fast on a merry-go-round and I can it literally seems like the world is spinning around me.  It happens whether I am sitting, standing or lying down.  When it happens I can hear a single sort of clap in my head, my eye lids move up and down fast and my eyes move in all directions.  I can not function at this time. It lasts a few seconds to a minute.  I may have it once a day for a week or two or even once in six months, it varies. Afterwards I feel nauseous, my head feels very heavy, I have a headache, disoriented, tired and dizzy.  I have been to neurologists twice and had EEG's done, blood tests done, even a brain scan. Nothing came up. No one knows why. Doctors dont know. People start looking at me funny when I explain what happens, cause not many have actually seen it happen and probably think I am lying. I don't know what to do anymore. Could it be stress related? Please if someone can help with any info I would appreciate it very much?

Have you seen an ENT Specialist who deals with balance disorders/problems?

Did it start abruptly?    

Sounds like an inner ear problem.
