I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 6 months ago. My TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh was 3.00 in Jan. 08. My thyroid antibodies were 268. I am not taking any hormones for my thyroid. I have had no periods since March '07. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 14 months to no avail. We are seeing a fertility doctor and he is starting me on Clomid next month (May 08). He does not seem too concerned about my TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh, but I keep hearingAge-related hearing loss Audiology Hearing loss Hearing or speech impairment - resources/reading that it should be between 1 and 2 before conceiving. Should I seek another opinion or go ahead with the Clomid? I am just worried about what could happen if I do not get my levels under controlControl Control rx before staring Clomid, but I really want to do ahead with the fertility treatments. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
My husband and I have been trying for 15 months and I have Graves'. I was prescriped Clomid for anovulation. The Clomid did make me ovulate and I got pregnant twice... and miscarried twice.
The problem, we found, was that by treating the anovulation we were only treating the symptom of a bigger problem and, therefore, Clomid helped me get pregnant... but my TSH levels made it impossible to sustain pregnancy.
If I could do it over again I would treat my thyroid first. Miscarriage is heart wrenching. Many fertility specialists, it seems, don't know enough about thyroid problems... their job is to get you pregnant. Mine succeeded in doing that part... but my problems became much more devastating becuase of it.

Hang in there! Hope this helps!
