I just switched health insurance in order to see a new doctor. I asked my old doc to send me my medical records so I can take them with me. My old doc tested my thyroid in June and in July but never told me the results just said they were low. Yesterday I got my records and the test results are FT4 0.59 and my TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh is 0.84. After reading up on in it on the net I am completely confused. Can anybody explain me how the FT4 can be low but the TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh can be normalNormal saline flush. I cant see the new doc until the second week of august and now I am concernd. Every help is welcome. Maybe I should mention that I have most of the syptoms (symptoms) of hypo for years.
What is the lab range on the Free T4T4 test?
0.7-1.8?
It is odd that your Free T4T4 test is so low and your TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh is not high. When you get to the new doctor, ask for a TSH, a Free T4 and a Free T3. If your Free T3 is low as well, then a few pituitary tests would be in order. Adrenal glands too. Blood tests can tell you quite a bit.
You haven't been diagnosed or treated for thyroid disease, have you?
