I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism/hashimotos about 1 year ago. I have been dieting and exercising to no avail. I want to lose weight for my overall health. I want to lose 20-30 lbs, which will be 15-20% of my body weight. It is not excessive for me, and meets the requirements for body mass index, and height and weight chart. Can I safely follow a low carbohydrate diet. I would limit my carbs to 20-30 daily. I will eat lean fish, chicken and vegetables, and eggs. I have researched and cannot find any reason why this might not be safe--can you give me your medical opinion?
Thank you in advance,
