If half the family has a sore throat, I wouldn't think it would be the Methimazole giving your daughter that problem.

Use your mothering skills and good judgement regarding the sore throat and whether or not a trip to the doctor is in order.

You do have a date set to check your daughter's blood levels again regarding the Methimazole, don't you? A TSH and a Free T4 should be run a month or so (6 weeks?) after starting the medication. Not sure how long it takes Methimazole to come up to full strength. You don't want to wait too long, especially when you are still in the stage of finding the correct dosage.

Best of luck.
