same symtoms - no answer

by lookingtosolve, Apr 01, 2008 11:03PM
I have been going throught what was to be pre-menopause and have received mixed diagnosis - help. Need to make sure I am not crazy. I am 34 - suffered hyperthyroidism until gettting pregnant with my son ( now 14). Was taken off the meds while pregnant and began to suffer systoms of menopause 2 yrs ago. I began hair loss, fatgiue, heavy-heavy periods, no desire to eat, nausea, consant feeling of cold and continued increase in h/rate, blood pressure some times, and feeling of heart attacks and anxiety.

Seeing, Endo (2nd) have had uptake statingimpression:hyperthyroidism. Lack of background activity with a 5hr uptake 36.4% and 24-hr uptake of 49.9%.  Scan indicated  abnormal thyroid function with right lobe 1.2X 4.1cm, left lobe 1.1X 1.2X1.39cm, thyroid isthmus has AP diameter of 2.7mm. Right mid portion complex solid and cystic mass, 2 add itional hypoechoic solid nodules in mid and lower pole; larger than 2X6mm, smaller 2X4mm. Overall thyroid in upper range of normal size.

Need help, first endo stated diet and exercise. I am very physically active 110 - 5ft mother of 2. Can't sleep, think straight and need answers. 2nd Endo stated Graves disease and put on meds and indoral. After normal labs before labs, next visit taken off everything stated not sure and maybe review in 3 months. Any help is appreciated!
