Have 81 year old woman diagnosed with thyroid disorder that experiences excessive coughing mainly during night hours. Brings up phlem when coughing. What can I do to help relieve the coughing at night?
Your cough may be an allergic response, have you been to the doctor? what kind of cough you have? is it associated with sputum production? do you have pain?, without knowing about the cause, assuming that can be allergic, have you changed your pillow? it happened to my son (I changed the pillow and cough dissapeared). It helps at night if you elevate your chest (2 pillows), but you should go to the doctor and try to figure out the cause.
