Finger

by emzerryan, Sep 15, 2009 09:34AM
Hi,

The last few days the top of one of my fingers has been very itchy.  When I look closer I notice there is a large number of little dots / spots slightly raised from the skin the whole way around my finger (it is only the top part of 1 of my fingers).  The spots look a little bit like mini warts.

I am a little bit concerned and would like to know what is causing this?

If you could please advise me or let me know what you think this may be as soon as possible.

Many thanks

It's difficult to say without seeing the lesion myself.

Warts certainly are possible, and if present, freezing treatment may be considered.

Other causes would be an allergic reaction, or irritation caused by a dermatitis.  If this is the case, steroid creams may help.

But before determining the next step, a dermatology referral is recommended.
