Thank you so much .for your advices it really helped... Now I feel I am not alone
Hello there!
I am so-o sorry that you are experiencing these problems. You say this all began with your dry cough. You are certain that everything was perfectly fine before all that began?? You haven't had any changes whatsoever? If not, then have you ever had an issue with anxiety at ANY point in your life before this? If the answers are all "no," then let me just say that anyone, at any time can develop anxiety problems. The smallest, most ridiculous thing can set a person 'off.' What's important is to work at getting ahead of the symptoms before they overwhelm you.
The best of all worlds would be if you could find a good therapist/counselor that could help you with this ... but if that isn't possible then you are going to have to teach yourself. Anxiety disorders can develop for no appearant reason. When I began having 'attacks' in my early 30's, it took several years to look back and recognize that I actually had my first 'episode' when I was in 3rd grade! I have been through a lot in my life and consider myself a reasonably strong person; but I also recognize that in truth I have a sensitive nature, which certainly doesn't help.
When you feel your anxiety begin, accept that you can't run from it. Start with controlling your breathing. Breathe in through your nose, count to 8 and then slowly breathe out through your mouth.Envision your anxiety as something solid and as you breathe out, imagine that you are also breathing the anxiety out of your body.
I applaud your going for walks but you need to view them as a positive way of coping, getting fresh air and exercise - not an escape. Since your attacks are simply fear of fear - being afraid of becoming afraid, you need to teach yourself to not be afraid of sleep - to not associate your bed with anxiety. Lie in bed with a good book and read. Don't dwell on going to sleep or when you are going to wake up. Remember to BREATHE!
You may also want to consider seeing your doctor and tell him/her what you are going through. I take a small amount of klonapin (also known as clonazepam) before I go to bed at night. I only take 1mg. a day and I haven't had an anxiety attack in so long I can't recall how long it's been now, thank God! I'm not going to say that I never get anxious - I do from time to time, but I practice my breathing keep myself busy and not allow myself to dwell on how I feel because they are only FEELINGS. They come and they go!
Give it all some time... if you don't get some relief, then seriously consider spending some time talking with your doctor! I wish you all the very best. You will be in my prayers - and if you ever want to 'talk,' feel free to message me anytime! Take care sweetie --
