Hiya Josua, being a student nurse is far more stressful than people can imagine, you dont only have to struggle through exausting 12 hour shifts but also need to deal with doing assignments, which take up ALOT of time doing research, planning etc and then having to adhere to deadlines and exams on top of this. Not only that, but it isn't uncommon now days for woman to be doing this while also raising a family, so they are placing themselves under ENORMOUS pressure.
Now i dont know if you have children as well, but even if you didnt you are still facing alot of stress, being a student often means you get lummbered with the jobs, all the nasty messy jobs, that the qualified nurses dont wana do and your running around like a headless chicken.
I would suggest that in the very limited time you do have for yourself take a portion of this time and meditate, do relaxation exercises. Also it is VERY important that you maintain a good, healthy diet and drink plenty of water as it is soooooooo easy to get caught up in all the drama that you find you have gone a whole shift only eating an apple or a quick doughnut and drunk little..... NOT GOOD!
If the stress does become far worse than i think it would be a good idea to see your team leader and discuss your feelings with him/her and see what can be done. Maybe for a short time you need to be transfered to a ward that isnt as busy, or put on light duties.
Hello Josua, the thingsyou are experiencing is all psychological. Nothng is true, its all the mind. Whenever you see the patients, dnt think that you will become sick or else. Whenever u are in the clinic, sing in your heart. Be positive everytime. U are experiencing like stress symptoms. Dnt even bother by them. Thanks.yeah Do meditate if you knw how to.
