Shadows in my mammogram
I just had a mammogram done last week. I have been doing one every year for the past 5 years. This time they called me and said I need to go bvack for a 1 hour detailed test b/c they saw an area od shadows on my left breast. I don't feel anything on that side. What could it be?

Hi,
A mammogram can pick many breast lesions. These lesions may not alway be palpable as breast lumps. Mammogram shadows may be because of cancer, or, more commonly, because of non-cancer problems.
Please discuss with your doctor the findings on the mammogram and the subsequent test (probably a breast sonogram).
All the best, and God Bless!
