ANGIGRAM

ANGIGRAM

I am a known Diabetic since 2000.
Recently I underwent a Master Health Checkup at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.
Final Impression of ECG reveals “RIGHT BUNDLE BRANCH BLOCK WITH LEFT ANTERIOR FASCICULAR BLOCK”.
Accordingly, consulting Doctor advised me to undergo 2D Echo & 64-slice CT Coronary Angigram
Later, one Trans-thoracic Echocardiography (Colour Doppler) done and the report is as follows:
2D Echo : Mild concentric LVH.Other Chambers are normal. All
Cardiac Valves are normal. IAS & IVS are intact.
                                       No intracavitary thrombus.
Good contractility of ventricles. No RWMA.
Good LV systolic function with EF 71%.
Doppler Studies :  Normal flow & pressure gradient across all valves.
                                       No intracardiac shunt. Mitral E>A.
Impressions :  Mild concentric Left Ventricle Hypertrophy.
   Normal Cardiac Valves.
                                       Good cardiac contractility. No RWMA.
Good LV systolic function EF 71%.

Now, my queries: -
1. What is Angigram and what is its function?
2. Whether my condition as reported above warrants me to undergo Angigram, though I am taking medicine like Heartcase, ASA and Toneact50.

An angiogram is an invasive procedure using contrast that is injected into your coronary arteries in order to take pictures of them (looking for blockages)-- a 64 slice CT provides similiar information without the invasiveness. It uses radiation to take pictures of your arteries after contrast is injected. Hope that helps!
