Reoccurance of Wolfe Parkinson White after ablation

by mnmgarza3, Oct 09, 2007 11:19AM
I had an ablation 3 years ago for Wolfe Parkinson White and am now feeling fluttering in my heart again.  They aren't full palpatations, but the rhythm is off for a few seconds, and then maintains again.  Can WPW come back after ablation?
Thank you,
Michelle

You need to have a monitor of your heart either a 24 hour Holter monitor or an event recorder to determine the type of arrhythmia you are having.  Some patients with WPW have more than one bypass tracts and it is possible that it could recur.  However, you might have another type of arrhythmia that the monitor would pick up.
