Difference between sensitvie tsh & Free T4
Hello,
Trying desparately to understand my results, what is the difference between the thyrotropin (sensitive tsh) test
and the FreeT4 test.  From all I've read if your t4 is high, your hypo....my t4 is over the moon and my
sensitive tsh is lo - appreciate any insights.

A low TSH with a high t4 is Hyperthyroid.   (High TSH and low free t4 is Hypo)

The TSH is made is the pituitary. T4 comes from the thyroid. T4 is the actual hormone. It is converted into the active form which is t3.

It is a negative feedback mechanism. When the t4 is high, a signal is sent to the pituitary to produce less TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) in an attempt to normalize things.

You should also have your free t3 tested with hyperthyoidism.
