Increased Tsh recurrence of carcinoma papillary cancer?
had a total thyroidectomy on Jan 2012. Was on thyroxine on 125mcg, but temper changed alot. So the doctor changed to 100mcg in June. During the year had iodine treatment and blood test was good last scan n blood test done in Oct'12 was clear n low TSH of 0.5. My recent T4 , TSH result(which taken on 31/12/12) is not ideal is it considered a recurrance? Result T4 15.9H TSH 4.83H Was really worried and was given blood test to be done in April. During my blood taking on 31/12/12, it was a junior nurse n intially blood could not flow out properly. Doctor do you think it make the test untrue? Should I go and do another ? Or wait till April
There is no reason for the test to be inaccurate. The T4 value being high, I would recommend further evaluation to rule out a recurrence and adequate control of the blood hormonal levels. You might consider seeing your treating endocrinologist at your earliest convenience for the same.
Hope this is helpful.
Thank you for the advise.
My treating doctor dun seem to be in concern and only asked me to do another blood test in April and also increased my dosage to 125mcg.
My ultrasound on the neck area is clear at 31/12/12. Should I go and request my treating doc
to do a further test instead of waiting till Apr
