Levothyroxin

by Brooksie89, May 15, 2009 08:53AM
I have read that levo causes brittle bones.  I have osteoporosis if I change to a natural treatment for hypo will this lessen the change of causing more damage to my bones?  I do  not take any meds for the osteo other than Liquid Calcium w/Vit D and a mega mineral.  I am scared to take the Actnol.  I am an active person, watch my diet, do not drink sodas so I can't believe my bone density tests showed up with a low bone density.  My chiro had told me I had degenerative bone disease, but when I told him what my gyno said about my bones he did not believe it was that bad. But should I check into a different med for my hypo.  I also have a small nodule on the right side of thyroid. They keep a check on this with an ultrasound every 6 months to a year.
