Hi - I have been hypo - for several years I used to take 50 synthroid then during my last pg 75 synthroid about a year ago I was switched by an endo to cytomel 50 in the am 25 in the eveningEvening primrose Evening primrose oil - well that endo does no blood work - I went to a new endo she said my heart was racing and wont prescibe cytomel for me she would do a low dose cytomel with synthroid - did the blood work meanwhile I got a surprise that I was pg - so my ob did blood work too - my t4's came in low - the endo I called and asked her results she said my t4's were low my ob wants me back on synthroid so this endo told me not to take anything for 2 weeks - I think thats craxy I am only 6-8 weeks along and dont want to put the baby at risk - so she agreed to prescribe 75 synthroid and retest in 2 weeks she acted like I could stop cytomel today and start synthroid the full 75 tomorrow now I know when I went on both I weaned on - so does this seem right? would I want to wean on to one and off of one? My ob is not real familiar with cytomel and feels better if I am on synthroid I dont have an issue with that I actually want to switch back cytomel does make me feel weird, I need suggestions on how to change this back I dont care for this new endo and plan to try some others but obviously since I am pregnant I need to make sure my hypo / hashi's is managed well for the 1st trimester so no miscarriage risks are there.
Any help or suggestions on the switch would be greatly appreciated.
