Thyroid Biopsy

Last month I had an ultra sound which showed a complex dominant mass on my right thyroid lobe. And 2 nodules in "the soft tissue of the neck on the left side which" the radiologist believed to be lymph nodes.  My endocrinologist sent me for a FNA and noted that the lymph nodes should be looked at and possibly biopsied too.  The guy did not biopsy the lymph nodes,and today my endocrinologist called me with results of FNA which show no malignant cells, but she wants to refer me to a surgeon for an opinion on the lymph nodes and whether they should be biopsied.  I dont understand this.  Are my lymph nodes abnormal in some way?? arent you supposed to have lymph nodes in your neck (these "nodules" are 4.0 x 15 mm and 5.0 x 9.0 mm and are echogenic centers)  Why is there possible concern over this?? and should I have them biopsed just to be safe? and would that just be another FNA  THANKS FOR ANY HELP  I feel like I know nothing definate and its just MORE waiting!!!

I googled thyroid nodules with lymph node involvement and got several good websites to explain the correlationGive that a try to see if you can get some answers.Waiting is hard and frustrating especially when you think the C word maybe involved.
