wondering what Is hapening?

I have been dealing with low blood sugar.. I eat regularly but still have the "hypoglycemic" episodes. about a week ago I was put on precose 25 mgs. 3xs a day. then I get a call for more testing.. I have low cortisol levels. the tests involve blood level draw to begin with ... an injection then another blood draw an hour later. My question is what is the injection for .. I know the first draw has to be at 8 am but I have no clue what the injection will serve for and wonder why I am not being told what is happening. I would feel better knowing what is going on then to let my head take over... and is this another test to rule things out or is this for specific things. I don't even know if I am suppose to fast or eat... continue the precose... I feel more concerned being kept in the dark then to be told what may or may not be hapening with me. Any ideas of what the injection is about? And what may or may not be hapening with my body? Last question if you have ordered this test... did the patient eat in the morning or fast? too many questions but I believe this is the place to address this issue. Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

My suggestion would be to ask your doctor every question you have posted and keep asking until you understand every answer.  You have every right to know what is going on and if your doctor can not answer your questions, look for another doctor.
