stretch marks :(

I have the worst darkest ugliest stretch marks try across my stomach I'm dieting nw n so far hav lost a stone I no I still hav a long way to go but I feel determined ..just wondered will they go down abit when my stomach gets smaller and does any1 no of any creams that reduce the look and actually work thanks x

To be honest, I'm not certain on how stretch marks work.
Mine started very purple-pink (like a fresh scar), and over time faded to a brownish colour and eventually white.
Im not sure if this helps you at all, but its all i know.
