M1a Springfield - Line throwing

This is an image of the m1a rifle  available to U.S. civilians used by the U.S. Navy and Coastguard to throw lines between two vessels for rescue and underway replenishment purposes. The standard way is to use the MK 87 Mod 1 line throwing grenade (available at gunshows), but any dummy grenade can be used. At night   colored cyalume light-stick would be attached to the grenade. There is no other currently available system for line-throwing available for disaster purposes.
