Numbness after hand surgery

Numbness after hand surgery

Hello,
I just had a pyogenic granuloma removed from my index finger. I was informed that there would be some numbness after the surgery, but I actually can't feel parts of my finger and certain parts of the area of the anesthesia injection site. Is this normal? What could be causing this or any sort of numbness? I'm getting worried and the surgeon that performed the procedure keeps not returning my call. I need to know if this will go away as it is affecting my care of my newborn.

Thank you.
